very cool b.r. page. quite impressive. I drummed for b.r. for ten years up until generator. I thought other fans might be interested in my new bands release on my label The band's name is fifi and the disc is out on low blow - triple x. the material is slightly hardcore with decent melody and aggro. old school indeed. my e-mail is LBlow66@aol.com. if anyone is interested in the disc they can contact me here or purchase a disc at their local outlets. thanks for your time.
Comments: Even cooler when a member of a band you like writes you!
On my writing of my background and childhood

John, You captured the spirit of what it is to be a teenager in middle America, My life, though 10 years longer, is almost a carbon copy of yours. I want to congradulate you on your courage, wit and stamina. All these traits were reflected in your writings. I also am a Dubuquer. However, I left for a life of travel and adventure and joined the Marine Corps (now 18 tears later). I have sometimes thought about returning to the Dubuque area, but when I get that itch, I visit my relatives there, I think about my ex-wife (still there), and the gloom that seems to hang over the town and I say, "No way in hell!" I'm sure your view is much brighter and for that I say, keep writing and expanding your page.

Comments: Hee Hee, 'No Way In Hell' is right!

John you write beautifuly - Please finish your life story - you have something to say, and you do it with a flurish. Lighten up on the old man though - You little brats don't come with directions and your dad just didn't know how to say, "I love you". I have a son-in-law who is narcissistic, so I looked this word up on the WEB and came up with your pages. Loved it.

when my father and I had problems, we get along well now!

hey, your home page is wierd and you, I am convinced, fall directly into the wired/strange categorie as well!!! I was born in Dubuque and am plagued with this as well although I do not have an official homepage yet.

Comments: Right on, weird and strange is what I strive for!

Drinking and Sex, that was really the jist if it, although I did fall in love with the Mississippi river. The last time I "left" Dubuque was in the summer of 1992. I joined the Marine Corps and went to Boot camp in SanDiego and ended up stationed in the Mojave Desert in California for 3 years. Unfortunately the drinking and carousing habits I learned growing up in Ole Dbq did not keep me afloat else where. After just a few short years away from the homestead, I was sent to Naval Alcohol Rehab and decided that perhaps I had a growing problem sipping those same cold beers that we used to drink while fishing, crusing, boating, watersking, or what ever. I ended up giving it up and Joining AA. Very shortly thereafter I got orders to Virginia. Once in Virginia, I continued to not drink and I got married and I learned to deal with life on the terms of the world instead of the terms of a boy a long ways from Iowa. I wouldn't trade my background for anything, though. Kind of makes me wonder what ever happened to some of my friends that grew up on the same stuff that I did??? You sound like you got out of it alive, with room to spare.
Talk to you later, Space
Comments: Yup Dubuque breeds alcoholism (BOO) and promescuity (YEA!)

Hey!
How's everything on your side of the net? I am a freshman at Emerson College in Boston... I am an Acting for film major but I have a double major in Advertising. I come from Georgia... The reason I got to your web page is that I have a paper on underage drinking due tomorrow... (ugh... yes... I'm also a procrastinator) I did find your section on high school very useful. I've never taken more than a glass of alcohol in my life. I think it's something to be proud of.. but everyone says I'm missing out. I just tell them that I'll do it when it's good and legal. I was wondering if you'd mind being quoted in my paper. It would be submitted to my teacher in my writing class and then to a small literary magazine as part of our final project of the semester. (I will probably be refused publication.) I just found what you had to say very interesting... ok... please respond soon.
Best regards, Andrea Carmona
Comments: My exploits quoted in a college paper... Woo Hoo!
And yes, underage drinking should be legalized!
Send any comments you may have to me as well! .
